Sustainable Village Resources
Helping in restoration of indigenous knowledge and agroecological systems for food security through 'Good Bye Poverty' project
Sustainable Village Resources at a Glance
Here at Sustainable Village Resources, we use local resources and knowledge to restore and conserve indigenous agroecological systems to enhance food security. Our strategy helps to provide permanent source of occupation, food and income for targeted communities in their own environment. Everybody is involved including children, youth, adults, internally displaced people, physically challenged people, sand harvesters, charcoal burners, miners, students, refugees and individual farmers
Activities
Sustainable Village Resources is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our Non-Profit Organization is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of our society’s biggest challenges. Our approach restores the lost livelihoods system by creating a natural agro-ecological ecosystem that enhances social, economic, human, political, environment and spiritual drivers of inclusion and prosperity. We create a community of practitioners who shares and supplements each other with eco-education, seeds, labor and food.
We conduct on site trainings for indigenous agroecological ecosystem restoration using locally available resources building on ancient indigenous technologies
We mentor and monitor our trainees' progress towards achieving results and after 10 days the results are visibly appreciable
We demonstrate impact within 30 days on abundance of diversified indigenous food stuff and visible resilient ecosystem
We provide room for volunteer attachments, site visits and ecotourism at our established agroecological systems at Rongo Shade Grown Food Forest in Migori, Five zone Jefferson's Permaculture Eco-spheres in Homabay, Kisumu City Permaculture Academy in Kisumu and many 3x8 indigenous Eco-sphere systems in Kilifi County.
We do holistic ecosystem assessment, agroecological systems designs and natural resources mapping to restore or upgrade farms to self-sustaining agroecological system and provide technical support on project proposal development for local and international CBOs and NGOs to enhance food security
We target, reach and involve all household members and people including children, youth, adults, internally displaced people, physically challenged people, sand harvesters, charcoal burners, miners, students, refugees and individual farmers
